Cargill Salt Inc. salt production facility is located on the southwest coast of Bonaire. The facility has many salt evaporation ponds and a system for purifying, storing and shipping the salt.

Long Description:

Cargill Salt Inc. has a huge salt operation on the southwest coast of Bonaire. Seawater is pumped into salt ponds and allowed to evaporate. When the salt crystallizes it is gathered and washed. The salt is then harvested and stored in huge stacks before the salt is transported by a conveyor onto waiting ships.
