Opposite St. Patrick's Cathedral at the Fifth Avenue entrance to Rockefeller Center stands a colossal 15' high, 7 ton bronze sculpture of Atlas holding an 21' diameter armillary sphere composed of three interlocking rings. The sphere has images the twelve zodiac signs and has an axis pointing to the North Star. The Art Deco Atlas stands on a 9' high two tiered granite pedestal.
