The Illuminated Crowd
1985

A crowd has gathered, facing light, an illumination
brought about by fire, an event, an ideology - or
an ideal. The strong light casts shadows, and as the
light moves towards the back and diminishes, the
mood degenerates; rowdiness, disorder, and violence
occur, showing the fragile nature of man. Illumination,
hope, involvement, hilarity, irritation, fear, illness,
violence, murder and death - the flow of man's
emotion through space.

The French Poodle depicts a tall, slender well-dressed woman dressed wearing a suit and high heel shoes. She is wearing an eye and nose mask while carrying a French Poodle in her arms. The French Poodle and Pug are looking at each other across the plaza while the owners are looking in opposite directions.

A plaque at the base of the statue is inscribed:

"Le caniche français
et le carlin anglais"
ou/or
