Short Description:

George Fox Hopkins Dean is buried in Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was a crew member on the RMS Titanic who died during the sinking of the RMS Titanic.

Long Description:

George Fox Hopkins Dean was living in Southampton, England when, on 4 April 1912, he signed on as member of the victualling crew as a 2nd class saloon steward on the RMS Titanic. He died in the sinking of the Titanic and his body, #252, was recovered by the cable ship Mackay-Bennett. He was identified by his 2nd class Steward's badge No. 35. George Dean was 19 years old.



A larger granite headstone marks his grave. It is inscribed:

GEORGE H. DEAN.
LOST ON
S.S. "TITANIC."
APRIL 15, 1912,
AGED 19 YEARS.
---
VERY DEEPLY MOURNED
BY HIS SORROWING PARENTS
