Long Description:
George Frederick Charles Talbot was born in Southampton, Hampshire, England on December 26, 1891. He joined the victualling crew of the RMS Titanic on April 6, 1912 where he worked as a 3rd class steward. He died when the RMS Titanic sank after striking and iceberg east of Nova Scotia on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to NY, NY.
George Frederick Charles Talbot's remains (#150) were recovered by the cable ship Mackay-Bennett and brought to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he was buried in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, on May 8, 1912. He was 20 years old.
A larger granite headstone with the refrain from the hymn "The Haven of Rest" (1890) by Henry L. Gilmour marks his grave. It is inscribed:
