Quick Description:

Verge is a abstract sculpture located in the west side of the Empire State Plaza, between Agency Buildings #2 and #3, in Albany, NY

Long Description:

Verge is an 18' by 36' by 25' black painted Cor-Ten steel abstract sculpture located in the west side of the Empire State Plaza Agency in a courtyard enclosed by trees and between two Agency Buildings. This sculpture by Clement Meadmore was created in 1971 -1972. It was acquired by then Governor in Nelson A. Rockefeller as part of an extensive art collection on display at the New State Capitol complex.

A 6' square Cor-Ten steel beam is above the ground on both ends. The 5' high lower end angles to the ground then forms one turn of a right handed helix before zooming straight ahead and winding up 21' above the ground.
